For our next installment we recreate the vibe of the legendary Soul Jazz Records night: 100% Dynanite!.

Irie Vibes Sound System presents Dean Atkins (ex Soul Jazz Sound System) and Jonny Crawshaw (ex 100% Dynamite! Edinburgh / Soul Provision) to take us on journey through the sounds of Soul Jazz Records, fusing reggae, soul, hiphop and dancehall.

The Irie Vibes Soundsystem is York’s biggest underground soundsystem weighing in at a chest rumbling 10kW. Bringing a regular dose of the Caribbean culture to the city with home-made food, art and an eclectic music policy influenced by all things Dub.

Jonny Crawshaw (DJ Red Six)

Made his name in Scotland under the moniker DJRed6. After a spell in London he returned to his native Yorkshire following the birth of his daughter. He ditched the alias and set up shop at Leeds’ Sela Bar where he can be found fortnightly at ‘The Get Down’. Principally a 45 collector, he is known for his eclectic dancefloor friendly sets covering all bases from Funk, Soul & Jazz, though Reggae into Hip Hop and beyond.
