Shaft of Wit return with a summer afternoon of top-class stand-up, headlined by Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo favourite Gary Delaney. Known for his razor-sharp one-liners and deadpan delivery, Gary is one of the most quoted comedians in the country.
He's joined by Phil Nichol, a multi-award-winning comedian and West End actor (Taboo, Jamie, Cuckoo’s Nest) whose unpredictable, high-energy style brings music, mayhem, and brilliantly chaotic comedy. With a guest support act and a slick MC also on the bill, it’s a full comedy club experience.

Gary Delaney
Gary Delaney is a razor sharp one-liner comedian, who is widely regarded as being the most quotable comic on the circuit. The high quantity of stand out gags leaves the audience struggling to remember them all. He regularly plays all the big clubs including The Comedy Store, Highlight, Jongleurs, Komedia, Glee, Rawhide, The Frog and Bucket, Hyena, Baby Blue, The Stand, Comedy Café, Lee Hurst's Backyard, Banana Cabaret and headlines at clubs throughout the UK. Gary is a regular guest on Mock The Week and has also appeared on Dave's 'One Night Stand', Comedy Central's 'Comedy Blue' and on Channel 4's 'Robert's Web' as well as Radio 4's 'Loose Ends' and Radio 2's 'Russell Kane's Whistle-Stop Tour'. Presenter, writer and comedian David Ward, is fast making his name on the comedy circuit. David is a friendly, upbeat presenter with an intelligent yet warm and cheeky outlook that gives him a unique and gentle bite. Fluid, quick thinking and lively, David's spontaneity has made him the choice host for the BBC's New Comedy Awards heats, as well as the rounds for C5's So You Think You're Funny? David's Edinburgh show The Whole Truth and Nothing But... in 2007 was performed to great acclaim, proving his skills as a writer, storyteller and actor in addition to his presenting and stand-up skills.
