Two brilliant artists from the worlds of Americana and British folk-pop join forces as a trio with double bassist Joe Hughes in a celebration of what brings us together.
My Girl the River hails from Louisiana with a voice like sugared espresso, whilst Serious Child explores modern Britain with pin-sharp lyrics and bags of melody.

Serious Child hails from an old beech wood in Sussex, and draws from a range of acoustic influences from folk to pop to bossa nova. His pin-sharp lyrics explore the world around us with a poet’s ear for emotion and a comedian’s eye for everyday detail.

My Girl The River
Kris Wilkinson Hughes aka My Girl the River is a Louisiana native, now based in the UK after a decade of songwriting in Nashville. She has recently released her third album, Songs About Space, to strong critical acclaim. As a performer, she is funny, warm and fearless with a sackful of hook laden songs and a voice of sweet sugared espresso. You might find yourself singing along or shedding a tear on your journey.

My Girl The River is an Americana, alt country, folk and roots project created by American Kris Wilkinson with British bassist Joe Hughes. It is mainly inspired by Kris' upbringing in the American Deep South, bringing to life anecdotes, half-truths, white lies and fables. Ranging from alt-country and folk to Americana and roots, it ticks every box. Toured with/similar to: Suzanne Vega, Laura Cantrell, Lucinda Williams, kd lang, Gillian Welch, Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell
