Whose Life is it Anyway? by Brian Clark is set in a hospital room and revolves around Claire Harrison, a sculptor by profession, who has been paralysed from the neck down (quadriplegia) in a car accident. She is determined to be allowed to die. The author presents arguments both in favour of and opposing euthanasia and to what extent government should be allowed to interfere in the life of a private citizen. In portraying Claire as an intelligent lady with a useless body, she leaves the audience with conflicting feelings about her desire to end her life.

This powerful play, whilst exploring the serious theme of euthanasia, includes an abundance of witty dialogue and dark humour. Claire Harrison is a very relatable character and is surrounded by a number of other compelling characters, including doctors, nurses, and a lawyer, all of whom have their own strong perspectives and motivations, creating a rich and thought-provoking dramatic experience for the audience.
