Torbay Literary Festival presents The Last Word

Torbay Literary Festival closes in unforgettable style with The Last Word - an end-of-festival party bringing together music, poetry, performance and pure celebration at Arena Torquay.

Headlining the night is legendary DJ and Hacienda icon Mike Pickering, founder member of M People and one of the defining figures of the UK dance scene, performing a very special DJ set packed with classic grooves and festival energy. The evening also features a rare live appearance from cult post-punk favourites The Blue Aeroplanes, whose explosive live shows and spoken-word-infused sound have earned them a devoted following for over four decades.

Support comes from rising local favourites 3 Days of Wonder and the genre-bending Vanity Proj3ct, while the entire evening is compered by the inimitable Mr B - The Gentleman Rhymer, who will also perform a live set of his uniquely British "chap hop".

Expect an eclectic, high-energy night of music, words and celebration as Torbay Literary Festival signs off in style.
