Rockin’ Roots Events presents a bank holiday masterclass in blues and soul at the Old Dairy Taproom on Sunday, 24th May 2026. This is s a high-energy convergence of international talent and vintage rhythm.
The Lineup
Oli Mississippi MacDonald (feat. Special Guest RaRa): Recently hailed as one of the most exciting bluesmen of his generation, Oli brings his full band to Tenterden. He is joined by RaRa, a soul force currently recording at the legendary Royal Studios in Memphis. Expect a stunning collision of London grit and Southern soul.
Chris Corcoran Big Band: The "Brit Kings of Jump Blues." This seven-piece ensemble delivers a sophisticated, high-octane "wall of sound" channeling the swinging 1950s. With a blistering horn section and a rhythm section that swings like a pendulum, they are widely recognized as one of the finest instrumental outfits in the country.
Max Hightower (USA): Straight from South Carolina, this founding member of Mac Arnold’s Plate Full O’ Blues kicks off the day. Expect a raw, funky mix of New Orleans groove and Carolina grit to set the perfect tone.
Beyond the individual sets, witness a rare musical convergence as these world-class artists share the stage. Paired with local craft ales from the brewery and the unique atmosphere of the Old Dairy Taproom, this is the ultimate destination for true music lovers.

Mississippi MacDonald
Mississippi MacDonald is an English Soul-Blues singer/songwriter/guitarist. In 2024, he won 2 UK Blues Federation Awards – Traditional Blues Artist Of The Year and Acoustic Blues Act Of The Year. Since his signing to APM Records in 2021, he has appeared on BBC Radio 2’s Blues Show with Cerys Matthews and has played extensively in the UK and the US including a Washington State Blues Society showcase on Beale Street during the International Blues Challenge, appearances on King Biscuit Time (Helena AK), and Radio Memphis. He has recorded recently in the US with established artists Vaneese Thomas (Rufus Thomas), Benny Turner (Freddie King, Mighty Joe Young), and the Reverend Shawn Amos. In July and October 2023, Mississippi recorded 10 new tracks with Hi Rhythm (Al Green, Ann Peebles, Otis Clay) in Memphis at Royal Studios, with Grammy Award winning producer Boo Mitchell, for release later in 2024. In May 2024, Mississippi was part of the Take Me To The River All Stars along with William Bell (Stax), Hi Rhythm, Jools Holland and Eric Gales. Mississippi’s first record for APM, “Do Right, Say Right” was named in the top 10 Blues Albums of 2022 by Mojo Magazine, and was album of the year on HRH Blues Radio. Touring his second album for APM Records, Heavy State Loving Blues, he was appraised by Blues In Britain Magazine as “one of finest modern bluesmen in the U.K.” "...wholly authentic, he’s earned the right to claim the name” Living Blues, USA
