About the show

What to Expect

The Birds will be celebrating the epic music which so often goes hand in hand with Crime Fighters of TV and cinema. Think the glamorous grandeur of James Bond themes, the cool Mancini jazz of the Pink Panther and the funk-infused orchestration of 70’s TV cop shows, lovingly curated and performed the way only Swing Birds can. Witnesses report special guests joining us on the night!

Every member of Swing Birds has experienced Prospect Hospice’s incredible assistance in one way or another, and they are immensely thankful for the care their Bird-in-Chief received. They appreciate the opportunity to give something back to Prospect Hospice.

Swing Birds

Swindon's only all-female big band, the Swing Birds, swing, sway, and entertain with an eclectic mix of smooth standards, contemporary classics and vivacious vocal numbers. Swing Birds was formed in the latter part of 2014 by Bird-in-Chief Mo Squires, as a tribute to the female band leaders of the WWII era, such as Ivy Benson. A flock of female musicians was assembled for a one-off gig, but the musicians, who enjoyed such a great time playing together, were so keen to reprise their performance that a decade later they're still together The Birds are, however, not your common-or-garden variety. They remain rare and elusive, so grab the opportunity while you can, and catch them in their natural habitat!
