A Message from The John Martyn Project

After seven wonderful years and hundreds of live shows celebrating John’s music, we’ve made the difficult decision to bring our touring chapter to a close. It’s been an incredible journey — one filled with unforgettable moments, passionate audiences, and the deep joy of bringing John Martyn’s music to life once again.

We truly love what we do, and sharing this magical music has meant the world to us. However, with everyone involved juggling various commitments and projects, finding the time to tour extensively has become increasingly difficult.

That said, this isn’t goodbye forever. While we’re stepping back from touring, we do plan to pop up now and again for one-off shows — so you haven’t seen the last of us!

Our upcoming September tour will be our final run of full touring dates. Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are no longer able to perform the shows in Sunderland (Firestation) and Bury St Edmunds (The Apex). We’re truly sorry to disappoint those audiences and hope some of you can make it to one of the remaining shows on the tour.

Thank you — from the bottom of our hearts — for supporting us, listening, and celebrating John’s timeless music with us over the years.

The John Martyn Project

The John Martyn Project is a special project comprised of Blythe Pepino, Kit Hawes, Pete Josef, Sam Brookes, John Blakeley and Jon Short, six artists coming together to celebrate the music of John Martyn. Each brings their own story and connection to John’s music which adds to the fabric of the overall experience of the project.
