Smoove & Turrell return to Sunderland to showcase some highlights from their 15-year career, including material from their recent album, Red Ellen. Turrell’s conscious lyricism with Smoove’s impeccable production – together with a live band who are 6 members strong and tighter than a submarine door!
Known for their raw, feel-good energy and knockout live shows, Smoove & Turrell are set to serve up a mix of retro soul, funk, and fresh beats.

Smoove & Turrell
Geordie duo with the smoothest funk and soul sounds. A fabulous live Northern Soul influenced band, combined with Turrell's gravel-voiced, classic soul man vocals. Their material draws on subject matters which are aimed to make us stop and think, with songs such as the politically charged ‘Hate Seeking Missile’ balanced fittingly with uplifting stompers such as ‘I Feel Alive’, guarantee to get even the most resistant of dancers toe-tapping.
