Since Acker Bilk and his paramount jazz band stepped back from performing live concerts in 2013, Acker Bilk's trombonist, Ian Bateman, has been keeping the flag flying for British traditional jazz with a series of jazz productions.
The Bateman Brothers Jazz Band
The band recreates the stunning concerts of the 1940s, '50s and '60s by the great Louis Armstrong and his All-Stars. Alan plays like Louis right down to the riffs and Ian barks out solos in the style of Trummy Young, so hold on to your seats! With the flamboyant Steve Rushton (drums), Trevor Whiting (clarinet), Craig Milverton (piano), John Day (bass) and Maggie Reeday (vocals) everyone is in for a treat!
