We're excited to announce that, as part of Independent Venue Week we will be showing a screening of the classic film High Fidelity!

And who better to work with on this but legendary local record shop Empire Records! Eddie will be spinning the tunes in our bar before and after the screening with a special set featuring artists from the film, either from the soundtrack, or mentioned in some of the (many) classic scenes from the the movie.

High Fidelity came out in 2000 (I know we can't believe it either!). Based on the best selling novel by Nick Hornby it follows Rob Gordon, a self-absorbed, 30-something owner of a struggling Chicago record store, obsessed with music and compiling "Top 5" lists. When his girlfriend, Laura, leaves him, he revisits his "Top 5 Most Memorable Breakups" to understand his romantic failures, confronting his fear of commitment and immaturity as he learns to move from critiquing life to participating in it and potentially winning Laura back, exploring themes of love, fandom, and growing up.

Tickets are only £5, so grab one and come and relive your youth with Pioneer and Empire Records!
