A standup comedy show for anyone who has had a Grandad
Standup Comedian Matt Price spent 18 months training to win a trophy to honour the memory of his Grandad – Raging Bill Price - after he found some boxing trophies in his Grandad’s attic. As Kate Copstick from the Scotsman said of the show when she reviewed it at the Edinburgh Festival, “It is a story-telling, grandad-loving, face-punching, gangster-reminiscing, nursery-rhyme-singing, tear in yer eye, laugh out loud joy of an hour…”
She also described Matt’s interaction with the crowd as “beyond impressive.”
The show isn’t actually about boxing, there is a lot more to it than that. But you will definitely want to know what happens next. Most amateur fighters have their first fight within a few months. It took Matt 18 months before he was “ready.” So how and why does a painfully shy 21 year old go to a boxing gym and spend so long pursuing a sport he has zero talent for? Why does he hate Humpty Dumpty but love karaoke?
This is a very funny show about getting back up when life has hit you hard. Years later and having been through some ups and downs, Matt learns something about himself that you’ll not forget! But you will love it...

'Price is a terrific comedian and wonderful storyteller …. His Cornish burr becomes the whole bestiary of appalling characters that populate this gripping tale that engenders a gasp for every guffaw' (The Scotsman).
