Anna Rheingans

Anna Rheingans is a violinist, multi-instrumentalist, ethnomusicologist and composer from the English Peak District, who has grown up within the folk music traditions of northern England but invested many years immersing herself in the folk music traditions of both Southern France and Scandinavia. Anna has been exploring the creative process with a curated selection of admirable musicians, songwriters and fiddle-singers this year, including Laura Cortese, Eliza Carthy, Jack Harris, Nancy Kerr and Hannah Read to name a few. The clock is ticking, the pencils are still scribbling, the practice timer is on, and Anna is looking forward to sharing her brand new work with those lucky enough to attend. Expect groove-infused drones, microtonal pattern experiments, baroque-polskas, modal melismas, heartwarming fiddle-songs, and dream-filled banjo recitals.
