CANADA HILL, with BEELINES and PROJECT CULTURE
Redstart Community are delighted to bring experienced local band CANADA HILL to the “Mall Sessions” with support from the effervescen THE BEELINES and classy PROJECT CULTURE
CANADA HILL
are a high-energy indie rock three-piece known for their gritty sound, sharp songwriting, and relentless live ethic. Formed in 2023 by frontman Alex Hungerford, the band quickly found its core with drummer/backing vocalist Harriet Kemp and bassist Lu Palladino. Together, they’ve crafted a sound that fuses the raw urgency of garage rock with the melodic sensibility of classic British songwriting, echoing the likes of Fontaines D.C., The Pixies, and early Radiohead.
Rooted in a DIY ethos, Canada Hill record and produce all their music in their home studio in Redhill, Surrey. Their tracks are tight, emotionally charged, and unapologetically loud—anchored by blistering guitars, locked-in rhythm sections, and layered vocals that swing from defiant to vulnerable in a heartbeat. Each song is tracked live, capturing the chemistry that’s earned them a reputation as one of the tightest new live acts on the circuit.
With more music on the way, an expanding fanbase, and a deep catalogue of unreleased originals, Canada Hill are just getting started.
THE BEELINES
The Beelines are a pop-punk-mod band from Kent and Surrey. Think Blur, Jam, Clash.
After a few false starts due to lockdown, they've gone on to play some cracking sets of originals over the last

Featuring

Canada Hill

Canada Hill, a three-piece from Redhill, blend harmonies with raucous indie energy, combining a wide range of influences ncluding Pulp, The Vaccines, Wunderhorse & The Kinks. The name is inspired by a viewpoint near Rothesay in West Scotland, where friends and relatives waved a last goodbye to loved ones sailing across the Atlantic to a new life. Guitarist Alex has Scottish family heritage hence the personal connection to the place, history and story. Formed in 2024, the band is comprised of Alex (Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica) and Harriet (Drums, Vocals) who found each other through a mutual and very strong passion for music. Both members of the band songwrite both collaboratively and individually and share singing duties, taking inspiration from their musical heroes through the 60s to the present day, infusing elements of them all to create music that’s truly their own. Although a two-piece outfit, they conjure an exciting, punchy sound through their individually creative arrangements and song structures. The band’s identity is rooted in classic songwriting, with strong hooks, catchy melodies and thoughtful, occasionally playful lyrics at the fore, the band are constantly striving to keep up with their own creativity, the elusive art of crafting that next song always at the forefront of their minds.

Project Culture

Project Culture appearing at this event
Project Culture are a 4-piece art rock band who spent their first year together gigging relentlessly and charming audiences across London and Surrey with their unique blend of melodic indie pop and tryhard slacker rock. They are just as inspired by books, films, theatre and stand-up comedy as they are by indie rock, living up to their name by drawing from a wide range of pop culture - be it ‘high’ or ‘low’ culture - to create something truly their own. The band have been praised by BBC Introducing for their “post-punk energy and the sense of urgency in the songwriting” and their ability to “address and transform clichés into original turns of phrase” in their lyrics, and performed at Alexandra Palace as part of the venue's 150th birthday celebrations.
