The Days Before Tour
Singer-Songwriter Vanessa Forero & full band will be touring the UK this summer to celebrate the release of Forero's debut album: 'Days Before', bringing you an evening of uplifting soul/folk with a touch of old-school gospel, full harmonies & big melodies.
Forero grew up in a mega-church, where she was lead pianist for years. In later years, rejecting it all & ripping down every belief & chain, the piano went down with the ship too; leading her to folk'ing around on the acoustic for years - trying to outrun the hymns.
Now: "This is my shameless record," she says, finally making her peace with the ivories & the roof-raising gospel she was raised amongst. "I'm bored trying to be cool, I'm more interested in being free these days. So this is me, owning my past, and it comes in the shape of this album."
Come & hear Forero's new collection of full-coloured songs, along with stories from those 'days before' and her journey out & up into a Colombian jungle mountain, where she lives today.
Vanessa Forero
English/Colombian singer-songwriter Vanessa Forero began composing since childhood. She has mostly worked as a film/TV composer/producer but since Brit-award artist Beth Orton selected her for her writers residency and UK show, Forero decided to become her own artist. Forero is a multi-instrumentalist who writes, records, and produces all the records herself. Then performing her material around the world, from the back of Colombian bars to Abbey Road's Studio-One, with several plays on BBC radio, Sofar Sounds, Sky+ and RCN, with a UK, Colombia and N.American tour and over a million plays on Spotify. She's also a best-selling co-author of: 'The Girl With No Name', telling of her mothers life as a feral child in the Colombian jungle, which turned National Geographic documentary: “Woman Raised By Monkeys”, for which Forero scored the music. She currently lives up a jungle mountain in Colombia, where she built her own home and studio. From there she scores movies as well as making records, collaborating recently with renowned producers Richard Blair & Christian Castagno.
