About the show

Ensemble Azut revisits French Chansons, from Trouvere songs to Jeanne Moreau and Jacques Brel, sometimes finding unusual diversions into other musical genres in the process.
Azut was formed in 2008 in Oxford.

Dominic Lash: double bass Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone Uusikuu interprets the vintage sounds of Finland for contemporary audiences. Founded in 2006, the group plays Finnish dance music of the 1930s-60s.
In Oxford Uusikuu will play as a trio, so the music becomes especially intimate.
Piknik (Nordic Notes, 2025) is Uusikuu's sixth album Praised as a "guaranteed mood-lifter" full of humour, drama and strong melodies,
Piknik entered the Top 20 of the World Music Charts Europe, and was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award,
