Gaelic Singer of the Year 2025, Kim Carnie blends traditional Gaelic roots with cinematic, contemporary soundscapes. One of Scotland’s most compelling musical voices, she is the lead singer of the multi-award-winning band Mànran and a founding member of the experimental folk ensemble Staran. Her vocals feature in major film and television soundtracks and she is regularly commissioned by gaming companies. A’ Chailleach, her second album was released to great acclaim in autumn 2025.

Award-winning singer and composer, Kim Carnie, has featured on some of the UK’s biggest stages as well as across the world via film and computer game soundtrack, from Netflix’s 'Outlaw King’ and ‘Black Mirror’ to Hallmark’s ‘A Scottish Love Scheme’. Since launching her solo career in 2018, Kim has become one of the most sought-after singers and session vocalists that Scotland has to offer, having worked with producers such as Jim Sutherland (Salmon Fishing in the Yemen), Donald Shaw (Capercaillie) and Ged Grimes (Simple Minds). In 2019 and 2020, she joined bands Mànran and Staran, respectively, as lead singer.
