An exploration of British landscapes from three acclaimed British singer songwriters. Huw Costin writes and performs with his band Torn Sail. He has worked with Brian Eno, Mark Lanegan, and Smith & Mudd. His debut solo album – Regrets – found it’s way into the NME Yearbook as a top 10 album. Something/Nothing was released in 2013 receiving support from Dermot O Leary and critical acclaim from Mojo & Uncut Magazines. E.R Thorpe has shaped her own evocative sound. Sometimes wilfully naive, sometimes considered and precise – her finger picking weaves a strange atmosphere – the likes of which you’d find in a Lynch film or a novel by Bolano. Emma is also an instigator – whether it’s setting up the Swanyard Songwriters Collective, championing live music in her community, or bringing together this project. Matt Hill (pen-name Quiet Loner) is inspired by the storytelling traditions of American folk and country music. His work has received radio play on BBC6 Music, he’s played Glastonbury at the invite of Billy Bragg, was songwriter in residence at Manchester’s People’s History Museum and was a showcasing artist the 2017 English Folk Expo. He also loves to ramble especially through chalk or limestone.
