Amateur Ornithologist started as the recording project of Tyneside pop culture obsessive Daniel Clifford before growing into a full-blown band in Summer '22. With a brain that stores snippets of old comics, adverts and TV, Daniel channels these into Amateur Ornithologist's weird pop music and visuals. Amateur Ornithologist has earned comparisons to Talking Heads, Depeche Mode and Field Music due to melodic instrumentation, lush harmonies and quirky nostalgic vibes.
