TOOTH AND CLAW - Where would the heroes and heroines of old be without their animal helpers? Shonaleigh and Simon Heywood tell stories of mythical beasts, wondrous steeds and furry best friends, wild, weird and wonderful tales of our non-human kin.

We are truly honoured to be able to start our new season of Storytelling with a double bill of Shonaleigh and Simon Heywood two of the most popular and respected tellers you could find anywhere. They are the 'tellers most likely to hold some sort of Guiness World Record forstory-related stuff'.

Shonaleigh carries thousands of oral stories from the Jewish tradition and shares their magic, mystery and wisdom with audiences around the world. Simon holds a PhD on contemporary storytelling and is an author of The Legend of Vortigern and South Yorkshire Folktales. Both have performed amazingly at Matlock in the past and we look forward to September with bated breath.
