The Ex

The Ex is an underground band that emerged from the Dutch punk scene in the late 70s, and have developed into a melting pot of divergent musical styles, from jazz to ethnic music to rock. Discordant, highly rhythmic guitars, the rolling, almost African drumming style, and the intense delivery of the often ironic lyrics give the music of The Ex its special character. After over 3 decades, more than 25 albums and around 1800 performances, the band continues to work as they did when they began, completely independent of record companies, managers or roadies. Because of this ‘do it yourself' work ethic The Ex is still a great example for other forward-thinking bands and musicians.
