Artist and songwriter Ryan Davis is teetering on the edge of being huge. Catch him while you can at a venue as intimate and up close and personal as The Bear.

Not until late-2023's lyrically and musically rich double-album, Dancing On The Edge, was Ryan’s creative presence widely acknowledged by the press, fellow contemporaries, and fans alike. An instant classic of idiosyncratic American songwriting greatness, it was one of the best albums of the year, and his spring 2025 tour of the UK and Ireland was met with absolute rave reviews.

Ryan’s second album, New Threats From The Soul, has just been released to huge acclaim. The title track alone showed the world that the band’s star is very much in ascendancy, and was rated 'Best New Track' by Pitchfork.

The songs are country-tinged, certainly leaning heavily into what MOJO called a “mooning slide guitar”, but they also have a lilting, almost pop sensibility. For fans of Bill Callahan, Kurt Vile, and Neil Young, for sure, but if you like great roots music that has a bit of attitude and a lot to say but doesn’t take itself too seriously, you will love this.

Support will be from Greene, playing a solo set featuring some of the finest songwriting from this side of the pond. Greene is the project of singer-songwriter Joe Anderton, channelling a love for pop melodies and rich harmony. Lyrically, Joe can be tongue-in-cheek and witty, but beyond this lies a more introspective take on topics. Joe draws on acts such as Big Star.
