About the show
In a new set created for this performance, the Will Sach Quartet presents original music inspired by the work of Thelonious Monk and Jelly Roll Morton, drawing on the rhythmic character and harmonic language of early jazz refracted through a contemporary lense.
A double bassist working across jazz, improvised music, recording, and film, Sach has performed internationally, including extensive collaborations with Wynton Marsalis, appearing with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at the Barbican Centre and at the Edinburgh International Festival. He is a core member of the Joe Webb Trio, featuring on Hamstrings and Hurricanes, shortlisted for the Mercury Prize.

Will Barry is a London-based pianist, drummer and percussionist who graduated from the Royal Academy of Music. He has appeared as part of many different projects at venues in his home town such as the 606 Club, Ronnie Scott's, The Bull's Head, the Jazz Café and Vortex Jazz Club.
