Jonny’s music is deeply inspired by people, places, and stories – each composition carries a relatable and accessible narrative, shaped with the unique artistic voices of his band members in mind. His writing draws influence from legendary big band composers such as Bob Brookmeyer, Thad Jones, Jim McNeely, Maria Schneider, Kenny Wheeler, Nikki Iles, Stan Sulzmann, and Vince Mendoza, alongside broader inspirations from Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, Egberto Gismonti, and Olivier Messiaen.
