Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Mishaal Tamer is the first to make an impact in the global music market. At the age of 9 Mishaal broke his arm, suffering nerve damage that would’ve left him handicapped had it not been for a doctor that gave him his guitar. Practicing on this guitar was how Mishaal regained control of his arm, hands and fingers. During this time in KSA music was taboo, so Mishaal would often practice in secret or wait till the night time before going out to empty lots by the street to play whatever songs he was writing that week to his friends who were also fellow music lovers. In 2017 music was fully legalised in KSA and Mishaal created an Instagram account posting his first clip “Can’t Love Myself”. It found success in the lofi world as producers and rappers sampled the clip as well as other clips posted during this time. In 2018 Mishaal bought a focusrite and began recording songs such as “Kid Goku” and “Addicted” using his laptop and Xbox mic. In 2019 Mishaal and his cousin Sultan Tamer created the 1st music video “Arabian Knights” shot in Mishaal’s hometown of Jeddah. It caught the attention of the music industry in the west which led to Mishaal then becoming the first Saudi to sign to a major record label and acquiring his O1 visa. In 2020 he released his demo EP “Life’s A Ride” In 2021 & 2022 he began playing shows in KSA, and has graced the cover Esquire ME, has been featured in GQ, Vogue, Arab News and in 2023 he went on tour with One Republic.
