Callinsick

Callinsick appearing at this event

Callinsick is the moniker of singer-songwriter Arran George, originally from Whitehaven, Cumbria and now based in London. Raised shuffling between small towns in West Cumbria, where the expected path often led to the local nuclear plant where his father worked; George instead found music. After a period working odd jobs as a labourer and moving between strange and colourful environments, he spotted graffiti at a train station that read CALL IN SICK. The name stuck, and so did the music. His sound spans sparse bedroom folk, alternative rock, indie, and sweeping, ethereal pop - tied together by vivid, emotionally honest songwriting. Inspired by his experiences of growing up in the North and later navigating life in London, Callinsick gives voice to the messy, in-between moments we all feel but rarely articulate.
