Yago Oproprio & Rô Rosa
Rap blended with Brazilian and Latin flavours from two of the countries prominent hip hop artists.
Returning to Jazz Cafe after his headline show last year, Yago Oproprio has since achieved some career highs with the release of his debut album in 2024 which led to a nomination for a Latin Grammy.
With an authentic sound that stands out in rap, Yago made waves in the national funk and rap scene with his melodic storytelling, strongly influenced by boom bap.
Joined by fellow Brazilian artist Rô Rosa, their recent collaboration sees them both celebrate their original blend of Brazilian rooted sound and engaging poetic narratives on the single ‘Improvável’.
Yago Oproprio
Brazil’s rising star, Yago Oproprio, has a distinctive sound combining elements of hip-hop with Brazilian and Latin flavours, paired with his laidback rap toplines. A native of São Paulo, he grew up in Venezuela learning Spanish where he first heard the music of Calle 13, Orishas, and Don Omar, influencing the rhythms and uniqueness to his creations. Now in Brazil, he made waves in the national funk and rap scene, with influences such as Sabotage, Duda Marapé, Sombra and Racionais, while at the same time absorbing names like Chico Buarque, Moreira da Silva, Pedro Luís and da Silva, Pedro Luís e a Parede, among many others.
