Fresh from Live at The Apollo, QI, A League of Their Own, Mock The Week, and The Last Leg, Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer nominee Maisie Adam is one of the hottest properties in British comedy right now.

Every set of hers is rammed with witty observations, high-octane energy and some right good jokes.

Maisie Adam

Maisie Adam first tried stand-up comedy in October 2016, in her native North Yorkshire (and unlike most newbie stand-ups, she did a full hour for her first ever gig). A couple of months later, she applied for the UK's largest stand-up competition: So You Think You're Funny. She headed up to Edinburgh for the semi-final, which she won, and the final was held at the end of the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe. Maisie won this too, becoming only the fourth woman to have done so in 30 years. Maisie returned to the Edinburgh Fringe the following year with her debut show Vague, which sold out the Gilded Balloon every day, received rave reviews and earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She also won the Amused Moose National New Comic whilst up at the Fringe, and Vague was picked up by the Soho Theatre for an extended post-Edinburgh run in January 2019. You may have also seen Maisie Adam on BBC's Mock the Week, Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats and ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show, and she has appeared on The Stephen K Amos Talk Show (Audible) and Urban Myths (Sky Arts). Other credits include BBC Three’s Period Dramas, and as show support for fellow stand-up Kiri Pritchard-McLean

Sally-Anne Hayward

Sally-Anne is charming and popular, with a winning brand of autobiographical humour. She'll take you on a journey through her slightly eccentric world, including insights into the female psyche and her compulsion to send off spoof job applications. 'Small-time country posh life versus young lady breaking into the stand-up circuit. Fabulous!' (BBC London Live) 'It's easy to imagine Hayward at the 02 or guesting on QI. She is a crowd-pleaser and a straightforward observational comic, but so are most of Britain's favourite comedians today. Hayward is easily the equal of any of them' (The Skinny) 'Innate effusive likeability with straightforward but effective writing... a primetime act' (www.Chortle.co.uk) 'Exceptionally funny' (The Independent).

Ben Van Der Velde

Ben Van der Velde is a stand-up comedian, actor, improviser and presenter, who, over the past few years, has spread joy and nonsense to all four corners of the British Isles, as well as Greece, Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland and Norway. He is a regular host and act for respected British comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, The Stand, Komedia, The Backyard, Covent Garden Comedy Club, Outside the Box, the Frog & Bucket, Comedy Club 4 Kids, Off the Kerb and The Comedy Café, as well as hosting stages for Bestival, Festival No.6 and Sunday Papers Live. He has also founded the Church of the Holy Kazoo with comedy legend Mark Thomas, walked the entire London Underground network to raise money for The Refugee Council and even took part in experiments at The Royal Society that revealed him to have the most infectious laugh of any human, rat or monkey. Ben is a regular performer at the Edinburgh Festival, where he has performed four critically-acclaimed shows: Chain Letter, Strudelhead, Barbarians and Sidekick. In 2016 his most recent show received 5 and 4 star reviews, whilst several of jokes made it into lists of ‘Best Joke at the Fringe’ compiled by The Scotsman, i-News and The Huffington Post. Ben has amassed a few residencies as an MC; most notably at Really Lovely Comedy and the legendary Free Beer Show, where he has featured alongside acts such as Omid Djalili, Reginald D. Hunter, Sarah Millican, Jim Jefferies and Andrew Maxwell . Ben is currently helmsman of the Chortle Award-winning Good Ship Comedy Club in Camden Town, where he can be seen spinning webs of nonsense and good humour every Monday from 8pm. (www.goodshipcomedy.com) “A sharp and crafty gagsmith, with wittily obtuse takes on…an impressively wide range of topics…bringing flair and confidence to them all.” Steve Bennett, Chortle “Highly promising…an accomplished comic.” Time Out “Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue.” Edinburgh Festivals Magazine “The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post “On flights of fancy, he pushes ideas to extremes and displays a crackling, spontaneous energy in which we’re swept up.” Fest
