Donovan Haffner Quintet

Donovan Haffner is an accomplished saxophonist who has performed with leading figures in contemporary British and European jazz, including Moses Boyd, Charlie Stacey, Jay Phelps, Balimaya Project, and Rasmus Sorenson. He has toured internationally with Moses Boyd, joined Jay Phelps’ Miles Davis Kind of Blue Project, and continues to collaborate with Tomorrow’s Warriors, having been mentored by Gary Crosby OBE, Alex Davis, and Binker Golding.

A finalist for both the 2024 Parliamentary Jazz Awards’ ‘Jazz Newcomer of the Year’ and the Music Company’s Tina May Award, Donovan also leads his own Quintet, featuring Francisco Garcia de Paredes (guitar), Jay Verma (piano), Harry Pearce (bass), and Harry Ling (drums). The group plays Donovan’s original music, blending straight-ahead, neo-bop, and contemporary jazz, always seeking to balance innovation with respect for jazz’s deep tradition.
