Two giants of the British Jazz scene, Mercury and MOBO award winner, Denys Batiste and twice BBC Award winner Tony Kofi joined forces with their new collaborative project.
Join us for an unforgettable night of jazz as two of London's premier saxophonists, Denys Baptiste and Tony Kofi, reunite to present a powerful new project. Having first played together in the early '90s as part of Gary Crosby's Nu Troop, these celebrated musicians now pay tribute to the legendary partnership of Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley and John Coltrane.
Their performance will recreate the iconic Cannonball Adderley Quintet in Chicago album, capturing the spirit, energy, and brilliance of one of jazzs most historic collaborations.
Born in Hounslow, West London of St Lucian parents in 1969, Denys Baptiste is an awardwinning jazz artist, composer and educator. An outstanding saxophonist of international acclaim, Denys is renowned for his ability to make complex music accessible, creating mature, melodic, and highly memorable compositions that lodge in the memory on first hearing.
