'Panacea' explores the ethics of scientific innovation through the story of Augustus Jameson who is creating an infectious vaccine. As he navigates academia and love, Gus confronts the dark side of ambition and progress, raising questions about the true cost of groundbreaking discoveries and scientific responsibility.
The play is a collaboration between microbiologist Andrew Singer and theatre creative Christina James, with renowned dramaturg Rachel Yu refining the script. Director Isabelle Tyner joins James for a second collaboration, bringing together science and theatre to communicate real issues through inventive storytelling.
