Michael Olivera unites some of Cuba’s finest contemporary musicians in his dynamic project, Cuban Jazz Syndicate. A seasoned drummer, producer, composer, and arranger, Olivera is a graduate of Havana’s prestigious National School of Art, where he launched his career accompanying many of the island’s top artists. Deeply rooted in the jazz tradition, he has become one of the most influential drummers on the international scene, with over 60 albums to his name and collaborations spanning hundreds of projects. His powerful, expressive style has taken him to the stages of world-renowned festivals, including Jazz à Vienne, Marciac, North Sea Jazz, Montreux, Montreal Jazz Festival, Blue Note (New York and Tokyo), Jakarta Jazz, Warsaw Jazz Festival, and major festivals across Madrid and Barcelona.
