The Parallels

Formed in 2022 as a gang of 17-year-old classmates from Oxford, The Parallels bonded over shared eclectic music tastes and a penchant for stripy tops and wearing sunglasses after dark. Musically, the band fuses the warm rhythmic grooves of Bossa Nova, influenced by guitarist Kay Carrascoza's Brazilian roots, with their introspective lyricism of British icons like The Smiths and The Specials, delivered by London-born vocalist Sam Kelly. Kay's intricate guitar lines intertwine with Sam's poignant lyrics and soulful melodies to create a nostalgic, yet original and forward-looking sound.
