A new project from award winning Welsh pianist/composer Warren showcasing his bold and original compositions from the last 25 years,as well as brand new music written for this ensemble.
Rekindling his long term relationship with Mark Lockheart (Perfect Houseplants, Barrel Organ,New Day and many other projects) the band also features the virtuoso bass playing of Yuri Goloubev and the high energy drumming of Andrew Bain. Cowbois and Shepherds represented the UK at the Qatari European Jazz Festival in 2024,and also toured Italy in 2025. This is their first performance in the UK.
Huw Warren
Huw Warren is one of Wales’ most creative and eclectic musicians, with a presence on the home and international jazz stages. His projects are always personal - exploratory, yet fun and accessible, and typically combine strands of jazz, world music and contemporary classical sounds into a coherent whole. Previous collaborations include June Tabor, Perfect Houseplants, Maria Pia de Vito, Mark Feldman and Peter Herbert as well as an album of Welsh hymns (Duw y Wyr) in 2004.
