About the show

Whether as a powerful tool for activism, as a way to process emotions, or simply as a means of joy, writing from personal experience is a wide, open field for experienced and new writers alike. Everyone has a story worth sharing, but how to begin?
In this two-hour workshop, poet and essayist Demi Anter will lead participants through a series of accessible creative writing exercises to free our writing instincts and to find the best structures for our true-life stories.
The session will include reading and discussion of literature from a range of disciplines to inspire us, as well as optional feedback. Please note, you will never be forced to share anything you have written, and you are not expected to produce a polished piece by the end of the session, but rather to explore new modes of storytelling.
Who is it for: All writers are welcome. This workshop is open to new writers as well as experienced writers.
What to bring: Please bring something to write with. You are also welcome to bring snacks to eat throughout the workshop, and alcoholic and soft drinks are available for purchase in the ICC bar.
