Following a sell-out screening during Blooms week 2024, the extraordinary, wild and irreverent film The Ulysses Project returns to the ICC’s big screen by popular demand to mark Bloomsday 2026!
This bold, modern, reimagining of Ulysses unfolds through a rapid succession of over 75 actors, each bringing to life the characters encountered by Leopold Bloom on June 16th, 1904. Filmed entirely during the first pandemic lockdown, the project captures a remarkable collection of intimate and finely detailed performances.
The ensemble cast features John Turturro, Aidan Gillen, Olwen Fouéré, Patrick Bergin, Shane MacGowan, Paula Meehan, and Barry Ward.
” a compendium of intimate, minutely nuanced performances is surprisingly, deeply cinematic and as provocative as the book” Irish Film Institute, Dublin.
‘A wildly experimental irreverent ramble through Dublin in a provocative modern re-telling of James Joyce Ulysses featuring over 85 international actors worldwide’. Irish Times
This film screening is being presented in partnership with ‘The Bloomsday Film Festival Dublin’. Thanks to the Festival’s Artistic Director Tommy Creagh.
