Join the Irish Cultural Centre for the exclusive London launch of SCRIBENDI: Irish Writers 1982–2025, a landmark new book by internationally acclaimed photographer Steve Pyke.

This special evening will feature Steve Pyke in conversation with literary journalist Suzi Feay, with a guest appearance by award-winning Irish poet and writer Martina Evans. Together, they’ll discuss Pyke’s creative process, his long-standing relationship with Irish literature, and the inspiration behind this extraordinary collection.

SCRIBENDI brings together over 100 striking black-and-white portraits of Ireland’s most celebrated writers, including Seamus Heaney, Edna O’Brien, Colm Tóibín, Anne Enright, Kevin Barry and many others. Captured over four decades, the series forms a visual history of Ireland’s literary culture – a tribute to the writers whose words continue to shape the nation’s identity.

Published by The Lilliput Press in partnership with Photo Museum Ireland, the book combines Pyke’s evocative photography with text excerpts and intimate reflections from the writers themselves. Following the discussion, Steve Pyke will sign copies of the book, available to purchase at the event – a perfect Christmas gift for lovers of Irish literature, photography and art.
