About the show

Explosive soul and funk from this exciting nine piece ensemble. The band’s extensive setlist provides a balance between familiar classics and less well known numbers, with recent additions from the soulful end of 70s reggae. Expect material from James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Toots & The Maytals as well as plenty of Stax, Motown and seventies funk. The band features three dynamic female vocalists, Amaziah Rose, Leslie Williams and Viesha Tews, all with distinctive styles and great harmonies backed by tight rhythms and a driving horn section.
The seven original members have been recently enhanced by two experienced veterans of the reggae and ska scene on drums and vocals. Soulfunks have been playing regular and well attended gigs at a wide range of venues across London and the south east since their formation seven years ago with the band getting their audiences up and dancing whenever they play.
