London’s West End pays tribute to New York in a musical celebration by Oscar winning lyricist Don Black.
Multi-award-winning lyricist Don Black CBE returns to the West End to celebrate his deeply personal lifelong love of cabaret this October. His brand-new revue show will premiere at London’s Fortune Theatre with a heartfelt tribute to the New York cabaret scene that has inspired him for decades.
The Fortune Theatre plays host to an intimate evening of new songs, with lyrics from Black (Diamonds Are Forever, Born Free, Sunset Boulevard, Aspects Of Love) and music from some of his most celebrated collaborators - including David Arnold, Alan Menken, Natasha Bedingfield, Mike Batt, Gary Barlow and many more.
Oscar-winning Don Black is one of Britain’s most successful and versatile lyricists. Black has written many of the greatest and most instantly recognisable songs of the last 60 years for TV, Film and Musical Theatre. Songs like ‘Born Free’, ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ and musicals like ‘Sunset Boulevard’, ‘Billy’ and ‘Aspects of Love’ have helped define popular culture. His world-wide success has taken him from his roots in Hackney all the way to Hollywood.
