These New Puritans

These New Puritans are arty post-punk-meets-electro band from Essex formed by twin brothers George Barnett and Jack Barnett. Originally from Southend-on-sea, they played music together as children and started to record music together at a young age, when their older brother Tom handed them a four-track tape recorder. The next move was trying hard at ripping apart Aphex Twin and making electronica under the name Mick The Asbestos. Years passed, they continued to make music, and eventually found a place they could play ‘live music’, The Royal Hotel in Southend-On-Sea, so they formed a band. They released three critically acclaimed albums before taking a break. 2019 saw the release of their first new album in six years.
