How would you defend yourself if you were accused of an invisible crime?
Mass hysteria erupts across Salem after a teenage girl cries witchcraft. A brutal witch-hunt ensues, led by the girls who now wield their terrifying power across the town.
Arthur Miller’s thrilling dramatization of the Salem Witch Trials tells the story of one of the darkest episodes of American history, when accusations of witchcraft spread like wildfire.
What if truth and lies, science and magic, were not so easy to distinguish? In this version of The Crucible, you’re in the dark too. Come to the Bridewell theatre to get caught up in the truth and lies. Discover the disastrous extent to which, when it’s one person’s word against another’s, fiction can spiral out of control.
Brought to you by award-winning theatre company Sedos, resident theatre company at The Bridewell theatre. This September, we invite you into the shadows of Salem and unveil the townspeople’s secrets.
Sedos
Sedos is an ambitious, vibrant and inclusive London theatre society, striving for excellence and creativity in our productions for over 100 years. We stage seven to 10 musicals and plays each year and offer open auditions for all our shows. We have been the resident theatre company at the Bridewell Theatre (just off Fleet Street) since 2012 and most of our season takes place there. We also perform in other venues, including touring to the Edinburgh Festival and the Minack Theatre in Cornwall. We hold open auditions for all our shows so both members and non-members can put themselves forward for roles. Additionally we have a thriving community of people who work behind the scenes on our productions in a wide variety of roles. Sedos is proud to be a founder member of London Drama Societies, which commits each member society to the following statement: “Collectively, we commit to take constant steps to be more inclusive and attract members and audiences reflecting London’s diversity. “We will identify and remove barriers to create a safe and inclusive environment. We want everyone to feel empowered to participate, on stage or off. We want stories to be told authentically.”
