It’s fair to say that after 60 years of performing at the highest level, Elaine Delmar is very much Jazz “Royalty”. From work at 16 with her father, the famous Leslie “Jiver” Hutchinson, through leading roles in musicals in London and Broadway to a successful recording career Elaine has established herself as an international artist of talent, poise and grace and in 2013, she received the APPJAG Special Award in recognition of her contribution to the UK music scene. Appearing this afternoon with the wonderful Barry Green-piano Elaine will be performing music from her latest album "Speak Low" along with a programme of swinging American Songbook standards. Elaine Delmar
A jazz singer of outstanding talent, whose career spans the West End, Broadway, Hollywood. The daughter of late Jamaica-born jazz pianist Leslie 'Jiver' Hutchinson, she made her debut as a pianist on BBC radio show, " The Children's Hour" at the age of 13, and has gone on to balance a career as a solo performer on England's club circuit and in musical theatre. Elaine has made numerous radio and television broadcasts and concerts singing with Small Groups, Big Bands and Symphony Orchestras around the world starring with Michel Legrand, Stephane Grappelli, Andy Williams, Benny Carter and Herb Ellis.
