This is no ordinary tribute. The Marquee Club All Star Band brings together a heavyweight line-up of musicians who’ve not only shared the stage with rock’s greatest legends - they are legends in their own right. Leading the charge is Mel Gaynor, the thunderous drummer behind Simple Minds, whose career includes performances with Elton John, Tina Turner, and Lou Reed. On guitar, the virtuosic Gus Isidore, co-writer of Seal’s platinum hit “Prayer for the Dying”, and collaborator with Peter Gabriel, Mark Bolan, and Peter Green. Keyboards come alive with Adam Day, whose credits include Simply Red, Elton John, and The Blockheads. Fronting the band is acclaimed South African vocalist Nic Billington, joined by rock-solid bassist Dave Boys (Samson, Quireboys, Heavy Pettin’). Expect bold, high-octane renditions of era-defining classics - from Hendrix to the Stones, Queen to Fleetwood Mac - delivered with the kind of soul, swagger, and skill that can only come from players who lived it.
