We spent so many years with our suitcase ready. A generation in-waiting. Creating our stories from broken dreams and rising from this thing called exile. Do we belong? As we create a legacy that seeps into this island like an invisible fog, bearing fruits and giving life to possible moments of love and friendships. Do we return? After a lifetime of imagining what could have been, with our suitcases by the door, whilst we create an identity that intensifies our voices and gifts our songs and dances; as we cleanse our spirits and stand tall.
Luma Creations creates an evening with music, stories, movement and images that drift between what is and what might have been.
A series of profound stories delivered in vibrant and provocative moments by artists and participants from Latin America, India, Spain and the UK Including The Grupo Luma Quartet, Colibri Dance Company Director and founder Magaly Flores, Liverpool’s only Latin American trad Dance company , Inti Tusuy, Peruvian songwriter and poet, Daniel Alvardo Salaverry (from Tocha trio) and Flamenco dancer Marina Pozo.
Join us to share these evocative experiences, energising movement and compelling songs on this very special nigh which will end with a Q&A, chaired by Francisco Carrasco (Chile), CEO of Luma Creations and a panel consisting of Viviana Peinada (Colombia) and Daniel Alvardo Salaverry (Peru) discussing Immigrant lives, community and how we can work together in these very complicated times!
