About the show

After dazzling audiences with their sold-out shows of Carole King’s Tapestry and a raucous tribute to Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush last June, Visions of Albion return to the Philharmonic Music Room for a third time — this time celebrating another album whose influence is heard and felt far and wide.
Visions of Albion are harking back to their roots with a tribute to an album as iconic as it was groundbreaking: Fairport Convention’s 1969 magnum opus Liege & Lief. Widely regarded as the record that introduced the world to Britain’s emerging electric-folk movement, Liege & Lief endures as a milestone that challenged — and changed — the very boundaries of what was possible in popular music.
Alongside the pioneering guitar work of Richard Thompson and the band’s inventive reworkings of traditional British folk songs, Liege & Lief is also remembered for the spellbinding voice of Sandy Denny — whose timeless performances helped define the sound of an entire era.
Once again, Visions of Albion will be joined by a full live band, bringing to life the passion, power, and poetry of this landmark album — an enduring celebration of tradition, reinvention, and the spirit of folk music itself.
Support is from Andy Connally, a singer songwriter and multi instrumentist who crafts his own vulnerabilities and life experiences into song and music.
