'She saw all of live through the camera's eye. Then suddenly, she saw...death!'
Queer Fear presents: EYES OF LAURA MARS (1978)
Queer Fear returns with a rare screening of 'American Giallo' slasher EYES OF LAURA MARS (1978) starring Faye Dunaway.
Irvin Kershner's stylish, violent cult thriller - from an original screenplay by John Carpenter - stars iconic star Faye Dunaway as glamorous fashion photographer Laura Mars, who begins to experience horrific visions when she 'sees' a series of brutal murders as they happen.
Trashy, violent, glamourous and more plot holes you could drive a New York subway train through, Eyes Of Laura Mars is a treasure trove of 70s horror tropes and themes. With an all-star cast, textual queer characters, theme song by Barbra Streisand and script co-written by John Carpenter, Eyes Of Laura Mars is a largely forgotten but nevertheless, influential example of a female-led horror film before the slasher craze as we know it really took hold.
