Comedians & Carols
The original – and best – festive hybrid of stand-up comedy and a carol service returns!
Hosted by Paul Kerensa, this one-of-a-kind Christmas night blends laugh-out-loud stand-up, magical twists on familiar carols (with lyrics on the big screen), live music, magic, mulled wine, and plenty of festive cheer. A staple of Kettering Arts Centre’s Christmas season, it’s perfect for families, friends, church groups, and festive sceptics alike.
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
El Baldiniho
One of the most versatile newer acts on the circuit, his brand of magic comedy and spoof mind-reading always hits the spot – whether at professional comedy clubs, cabaret nights, theatre shows, student nights, family friendly festivals or events for children. “Headline quality act” Funhouse Comedy. “A genuinely funny act” House of Stand-Up. “He charms us all with his terrible magic and puns” Camp Bestival Review.

Pauline Eyre
Pauline Eyre is a voiceover, continuity announcer & writer, stand-up comedian, corporate video producer, antenatal teacher and fitness instructor – variety is the spice of life! She also a mother of three, which a man might not include on his bio, but it’s something she is immensely proud of, so there. Mostly, she’s a bit knackered. "She instinctively engages with the audience and creates an environment that is welcoming and fun for them and the other performers. A true skill.” (Funny Women)

Mark Palmer
UK-based comedian from Cape Town, South Africa, described by the press as 'clean, classy and clever'. 'Mark Palmer is one of a rare breed of comedians: he can make you laugh without having to pepper his routine with expletives or venture too far below the belt... He's great at slice-of-life comedy, and deftly gives a wide range of subjects a sharp nudge in the ribs...' (The Cape Times).

Paul Kerensa
Recent winner of the Gong Show at the Comedy Store: a kind of comedy survival show which includes Ben Elton and Rik Mayall amongst its former winners. He was voted winner of the ITV Take The Mic 2002 competition and has been finalist in at least four other national comedy competitions. His confident, unconfrontational manner is reminiscent of Dave Gorman. A performer with inventive material and a bright future.
