In 1942 Berlin, Hilde is a member of the Communist Rote Kapelle resistance group. As the work of printing and distributing anti-Nazi posters and leaflets and keeping in radio contact with Russian agents becomes more and more dangerous, the group nevertheless manages to find moments of peace and joy. With their lives in constant danger, Hilde gradually falls in love with another member of the group, Hans, as they spend an unforgettable summer together.
