About the show

Prepare for a night of thunderous riffs and raw rock energy as Sky Valley Mistress brings their explosive live show to the Northern Quarter.
Blending the ferocious fuzz-drenched guitar tones of Queens of the Stone Age, the primal edge of The Stooges, and the heavy groove of Black Sabbath, the band creates a sound that is both massive and melodic. At the centre of it all is vocalist Kayley Davies, whose deep, soul-smoked voice carries soaring melodies through towering walls of desert-rock riffs.
What truly sets Sky Valley Mistress apart is their mind-bending live performance. The duo faces each other on stage in their signature "Duel-Drumming" setup - Kayley “Hell Kitten” Davies behind one half of the kit, while guitarist Max "Leather Messiah" Newsome controls the other while wielding his guitar.
Their fearless ambition has already created unforgettable moments. One of their earliest shows saw them performing from the back of their hearse on the streets of Liverpool for The Hives, ending with frontman Pelle Almqvist jumping on the mic alongside Kayley - a moment that led to them supporting the band later in the city in front of a 2,500-strong crowd.
With mountainous riffs, hypnotic grooves, and a live show that has to be seen to be believed, Sky Valley Mistress delivers rock and roll in its rawest, loudest, and most electrifying form. Don't miss it!

Sky Valley Mistress appearing at this event
Returning with their first release since their debut album “Faithless Rituals”, Sky Valley Mistress have launched back into the sonic stratosphere with their brand new single “Too Many Ghosts”. Recorded at The Nave Studios, Leeds with engineer Danny Blackburn (Adult DVD), it’s clear that the sound of the desert still fuels this band wherever they go as their latest cut is cactus needle sharp. From the moment the track picks up, Sky Valley Mistress drive you beyond the horizon and leave you hanging by the hook of the chorus ready to ride again. Or as the band explain: “This song is meant for the open highway. Somewhere you have the freedom to put your foot down and still feel like you’re cruising”. Now streamlined and stripped back to the two original members, refusing to conform to conventions, on the record Sky Valley Mistress have doubled down their studio sound and present themselves as a four-piece band. How the hearse rollin’, flare strollin’, speaker ‘splodin’ outfit recreate this in the flesh as a Duel-Drumming Duo however, has to be seen to be believed. Lead vocalist Kayley “Hell Kitten” Davies picks up the sticks and play one half of a drum kit, with former drummer Maxwell Harvey William Newsome III taking on the electric guitar and keeping one foot on the kick drum. No samples. No backing tracks. No click tracks. No one is playing rock and roll the way that these two do.
