An evening of songs, memories and rock n roll anecdotes related with acerbic wit and tongue firmly in cheek by the voice of indie legends Inspiral Carpets in their golden years. Tom plays Inspirals classic hits including Saturn 5, This Is How It Feels and She Comes in the Fall among many others along with material from solo albums such as Keep Britain Untidy (2001) and this Year's Grand Mal (2024) and some well-chosen covers. He’ll also be signing (and of course selling) copies of his many post-Inspirals releases and his engagingly written, angry and laugh-out-loud funny memoir ‘Carpet Burns’.
Cool as F**k!
PLEASE NOTE: There will be ranked seating for around 40 people on a first-come-first served basis. So get there early to bag one! There's a few other seats and tables further back too.
TICKETS ARE £20 (plus fee). £15 for club members (Code available from Kev Saunders and the club manager)
More about Tom
An accomplished singer songwriter and guitarist , best known as the ex-lead singer with Manchester's finest Inspiral Carpets, he sang on all the band's hits and was present at the height of their success. Tom parted with Inspirals in 2011 and has been forging a successful solo career ever since.
Tom Hingley
He moved to the North West in the mid-eighties from his Oxford home and in 1989 he became the vocalist for Inspiral Carpets. The band went on to have eleven top forty singles between 1990 and their initial split in 1995. Tom's charm and charisma remain, and his extraordinary vocal range is as accurate and powerful as ever, incorporating soul, r'n'b and jazz.
